About timre

timre is a free Android app that limits your time in apps you choose and, when you reach the limit, shows a full-screen reminder written in your own words — your goal, your reason, and optionally a photo of who it's for.

Why it exists

Every screen‑time app has the same screen at the moment that matters: a grey box that says you've reached your limit. It is dismissed in one motion because it isn't about anything. timre started from a simple observation — the only message that stops a tired thumb at 11 pm is one you wrote yourself, about something you actually want, ideally with a face on it. Everything in the app exists to get that message in front of you at the right second.

The one rule

What you do in other apps stays on your phone. timre measures which apps are open and for how long on the device and never uploads it; only daily totals per monitored app sync to your account so your history survives a new phone. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Who makes it

timre is made by an independent developer, Castro K Joseph, in India. It is a small, independent product; there is no growth team, and the roadmap is decided by what testers say after a week of use.

Platforms and price

Android 8.0 and later. An iPhone version is not available yet. Free to start. Pro is a subscription (price shown in the app) that removes the two-app cap, adds Deep Work presets and up to three photos, generates fresh reminder lines per app each month, and works across every phone you sign in to.
